Windows:
Our production of traditional, historical or custom
design windows include, but are certainly not limited to: traditional
double hungs, single hungs, casements, awnings, arched top, segment
head, ellipticals, gothic arch, ovals & circles, transoms, fixed sash
set and direct set and more. Remember, not all windows are square!
Whether arch, eyebrow, octagon, trapezoid or ellipse, Dallas Millwork
has expertise and capabilities that few can match!
Doors:
Open a door to beauty, performance and security.
Open a door to design and style. Find all of this as you open your eyes
to Dallas Millwork’s custom doors. Designed to include variations in
operation as well as appearance, we have not forgotten security, using a
multi-point locking system as a standard feature. Our custom doors are
available with in-swing or out-swing operation, as well as endless glass
options, panel details, iron works, and casings.
Casings/Trim Options:
Dressed up or dressed down, all windows and doors
have trim. Dallas Millwork offers trim variations for the convenience of
the builder and the end user. While trim has a utilitarian function as a
bridge between the window and the wall inside and out, it ultimately
frames the window/door in its setting. The exterior trim rounds out the
architectural presentation while the interior trim becomes the frame for
natures setting.
Aside from all of the stock casing profiles
contained in our moulding catalog, Dallas Millwork has it’s own moulding
department capable of duplicating or creating all of your custom
casings. We grind our own knives in house giving you the freedom to
design a casing truly your own.
Glass Options:
While it may seem obvious, glass plays an important
role in the fabrication of the right window for your home. In fact, the
right glass options and combinations can serve to add energy efficiency,
security and enhance the beauty of your home. Where most companies will
only present a few options, we have our own in house glass department
that can help you create a personalized solution. Our vast array of
glass options will enhance the beauty, efficiency and security of your
home.
Grille Options:
Details do make a difference. Grille options add
the perfect finishing touches to your custom windows and doors. Various
divided lite patterns are available to replicate the look of your
original windows or to add architectural interest.
True Divided Lite:
TDL: True divided lites are manufactured using
essentially the same process as of the windows of yesteryear - a solid
frame is broken up into squares, rectangles, triangles, diamonds, or
other regular geometric shapes using interlocking wood strips, and
individual panes of glass are fit into the openings. Because of their
authentic nature, true divided lites have the advantage of unparalleled
beauty. Also because of that authenticity, they are labor intensive to
produce and utilize more materials, making them more expensive than
other types of lite division.
Simulated Divided Lite Options:
SDL Bars: For a more traditional
appearance, Simulated-Divided-Lite bars are permanently adhered to the
outside surfaces of the glass with a spacer bar in between the panes of
glass.
Removable Grilles: There are a
couple of ways of achieving the divided lite look at a lower cost. One
attractive and considerably less expensive alternative are removable
grilles. Removable grilles are simply a wood framework that snaps over
the inside of a standard, non-divided window. The grid simulates the
appearance of individual panes of glass, and also offers the advantage
of easy removability to simplify both painting and cleaning. One other
advantage to the removable grille is that it can be added at any time
and does not have to be included as part of the original order.
GBG: The divided lite look can be
achieved through the installation of grids between the two panes of
insulated glass. The grids give the appearance of a traditional, painted
divided lite window. No painting is required, and the interior and
exterior surfaces of the window are smooth and unbroken for easy
cleaning. While not at all a true divided lite, gridded windows still
offer a very attractive alternative to more expensive wood windows with
individual panes.
